As stated in the Torfaen Anti-Bullying Strategy 2008/2010, it is crucial
that all child settings have an anti-bullying policy. A good anti-bullying
policy will provide all staff, young people and parents with a shared
understanding of what bullying is and how it will be tackled. It can also be useful to ask all young people to sign an anti-bullying charter, which can be displayed in a prominent position. You can download a copy of an anti-bullying charter template| here.
Welsh Assembly Government has developed a policy review toolkit for schools|. The main headings are provided below:
-
Consultation
-
Definition of bullying
-
Ability to identify behaviour as bullying
-

-
Strategies for parents
-

-
Timetable for development and review
It is also important that child settings in Torfaen also make reference to the 'key recommendations' listed in the Torfaen Anti-Bullying Strategy 08/10 when developing and reviewing anti-bullying policies. A copy of the strategy is available on the Torfaen Strategy| page of the website.
